Happy Sunday! Let us introduce you to this week’s fantastic guest editor, Anna Katherine (Clemmons) Clay. Anna Katherine is a freelance writer and adjunct professor in the Department of Media Studies at the University of Virginia. She is a 14-year veteran writer, reporter and producer who has spent most of her career working for ESPN, writing everything from longform features to short stories. She has produced video features for ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Countdown,’ ESPN the Magazine’s ‘Body Issue,’ and more; her reporting adventures have included riding on a combine harvester through Kansas wheat fields with Jordy Nelson and witnessing a backyard game of H-O-R-S-E between Dell and Stephen Curry (she won’t reveal who won).
In addition to her continued ESPN work, Anna Katherine has written for numerous publications, including: The New York Times, Glamour Magazine, The Washington Post Magazine, Conde Nast Traveler, USA Today, Sports Illustrated, Hemispheres, Longreads, SB Nation, Men’s Journal, Bleacher Report Magazine, Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine and more. She teaches Sports Journalism and Sports Media Production at the University of Virginia and lives in Charlottesville with her husband, Matt, and their two sons, Connor and Sam.
